Bud Thomson, 95 Years Young and Thriving

At 95 years young, Bud Thomson embodies the grace, charm and sharp wit of a true gentleman of the old school.  With his quick smile, firm handshake and a repertoire of kind words and humor, he has quickly become a beloved figure among fellow residents.

Born in Orient Point, NJ, Bud graduated from the local high school  and went on to Pace Institute in NYC with a major in business. He put that education to good use in his role as Production Manager/Administrator at Northrop Grumman where he worked for thirty-four years. Bud’s impressive background also includes a stint as a ski instructor in Stowe, Vt.

Bud has an elegant appearance with a shock of white hair and starched button down shirts. When asked what one little bit of advice he would share with young people just starting out in their professional life, he did not hesitate with his answer.  “Well, this applies to both one’s professional and personal life. JUST SHOW UP. Be the one that arrives 5 minutes early with a smile on your face and an eagerness to get the job done on time and in an efficient manner.  Embrace life and all it has to offer, but do all things in moderation. You’ll last longer that way. That’s all it takes.”

The final question for Bud was, “Is there anything you would like to share with us about your hopes and dreams for the future?”  Reflecting for a moment and with a twinkle in his eye he answered, “As a matter of fact there is. I would like to have a pretty girl on my arm to take to dinner and do things with. Life is meant to be shared”.We wish Bud luck in this adventure.

This presentation promises to be a great opportunity for the residents, family and friends as well as the community at large to come together and enjoy reminiscing about past experiences.
